The 2019 Ford Mustang Raffle Car has arrived!
The 2018 Doernbecher Raffle Car keys are delivered by Bill Eagle to Mary Wells of Deer Island, Oregon
Mary had a Children’s cancer story to share. She told us about her nephew, Craig Bottorff who, 34 years ago, when he was 4, suffered from Leukemia. At that time, Doernbecher was unable to treat children’s cancer. Children, and their families had to travel to Fred Hutchison in Seattle for treatment.
Three years later, when he was seven, Craig’s leukemia had progressed to a point where a bone marrow transplant was thought to be the only thing that could sustain him. Normally a child needed 5 or 6 “markers” for a bone marrow match. Craig had none. Out of desperation the hospital performed a transplant on him anyway. It was thought that he would probably not survive. Craig was the first successful recipient of a “zero match” transplant.
Craig is now 36 and Mary was pleased to attend his wedding In Veneta the week before she received her car.
Doernbecher Children’s hospital now, thanks to Kiwanis, can handle Children’s cancers.

Taylor Kissinger, KDCCP Board member and leader of the Mustang Raffle Committee presents the keys of the 2016 Mustang to raffle winner Linda Raynor from Ranier, Oregon. Congratulations, Linda!
The winner of the 2015 KDCCP Raffle car Fund Raiser is John Rowland from Springfield, Oregon.
The winning ticket was drawn by 11 year old Emory Maughan, a previous patient at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland.
The Mustang Raffle is our largest fundraiser. It consistently generates a at least half of the amount KDCCP donates to the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital each year. Our sincere thanks go out to all of the Kiwanians and others who have volunteered to raise funds by selling raffle tickets and/or through their donations to KDCCP.
Because you sold or bought a raffle ticket, you have made it possible for Doernbecher to train the next generation of children’s cancer doctors. They will each treat thousands of children during their careers. They will spend thousands of hours in their labs, searching for the causes and cures for cancer. All because you sold or bought a ticket.
More than 360,000 times every year, children from all over Oregon and Southern Washington knock on the doors at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, because they can’t get the treatment they need anywhere else.
Buying Tickets…You can buy individual or “books” of tickets from most any Kiwanian in Oregon, or by attending one of the car shows.
KDCCP is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation. To make a tax deductible contribution, click the Donation Now button. Thank You!!
